Exhibit Awards

Master Gardeners received five awards for their garden exhibit "Say It with Foliage...and A Little Water" at the 2006 San Diego County Fair. The following awards were presented to UC Master Gardeners on June 9, 2006:

"Don Diego Award" presented for the landscape display by a non-commercial exhibitor with the best design, aesthetic appeal and plant quality.

"Educational Merit Award" presented to the exhibit displaying outstanding educational merit.

"Hardscape Feature Award" selected for distinctive and creative use of hardscape features.

"Massachusetts Horticultural Society Gold Medal" award for the best execution of design.

"The San Diego Horticultural Society - Don and Dorothy Walker Excellence in Horticulture Award" presented for best horticultural display.

A committee of Master Gardeners chaired by Darlene Larsen designed, installed, and maintained the Garden Exhibit. The Committee members who contributed their time and talent to the project are:
