In 2006 the Master Gardeners of SD County designed a garden exhibit that
features drought tolerant, western natives as well as some unusual plants.
Master Gardeners worked as a group to select and design the exhibit using plant
material that is well suited for our climate and would reflect what homeowners
might find both interesting and attractive in their own gardens.
For months, MGs nurtured hundreds of plants grown in pots in their own gardens that are now being used in the exhibit, worked on design features, and compiled a comprehensive list of all the plants being included in the display. The plant list includes Latin and common names, plant characteristics such as mature size, exposure,
growth habit and bloom color.
