There is a green powdery substance on the trunk and branches of my citrus tree. Is this a disease?

The green powdery material is probably dry algae. It often grows on the surface of the bark on portions of a tree's trunk or branches when moisture is present for a prolonged period. Algae does not harm citrus trees and does not need to be controlled.
