Sweet Corn

DescriptionPlanting DatesVarietiesNutritionPDF
Varieties: I highly recommend the EH hybrids for community gardeners and backyard gardeners (See history notes below**). These types can also be listed in catalogs as SE hybrids. They have only 15% more sugar than standard types and seem to be creamier. They are usually more tender and most important, they can cross-pollinate except with the SH2, with less dire results. The corn won't be starchy, but less sweet. If you buy corn seed from a catalog and they do not indicate the genotypes in some way, e.g. supersweet or sugar-enhanced, check their website for more information.
