In the Seminar Marketplace: Heirloom tomatoes, handcrafted birdhouses, unusual plants and more
Come early for the best selection of ornamental and edible plants, bulbs, garden décor, and gently-used gardening books for sale to seminar attendees. Sale hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. A secure hold area will be available to store purchases while you enjoy seminar sessions.

Birdhouses are classic garden ornaments. Choose from rustic, mosaic and gourd birdhouses hand crafted by talented Master Gardeners. Buy one for a focal point or a trio to decorate your beds and borders, patio or deck. More than 60 will be for sale priced at $20 to $40 each. Cash and personal checks are accepted.

Heirloom and hybrid tomatoes are favorites of chefs - and backyard farmers. And the end of March is a perfect time to plant them. More than a dozen rare and unusual varieties, including Green Zebra, Cherokee Purple and Yellow Pear, will be for sale. Seedlings of some favorite squashes and cucumbers also will be available. All are garden-ready in 4-inch pots. Cost: $3.50 each or 3 for $10. |

Rare and unusual plants will be sold by specialty nurseries including Palomar Mesa Growers (Australian and other drought-tolerant plants), Weidners' Gardens (year-round blooming plants), and Garden Glories Nursery (new and unusual perennials.
